Vehicle Charging – How it Works

Charging and Electric Vehicle (EV) couldn’t be easier.  You can simply use the charger supplied with the vehicles to plug into a standard 3 pin socket.  However this is a slow way to charge, a wall box charger will charge around 3x faster. Please have a look at the detail below – or if that doesn’t answer your questions get in touch.

Standard Plug

Start using your EV right away – no need for any other equipment or cost. as long as you can park near (i.e. within 3m) to a standard 3 pin socket. This gives about 2.4kW of charge power at maximum rate.

Wall box Charger

Looking for a faster charge? ask us about installing a wall box charger. A domestic (single phase) charger will give you 7kW of charging power or a commercial (3phase) charger will deliver up to 22kW if you car is compatible.

Solar tie in

For those with a solar installation our charging solution is designed to integrate with your existing system, and give you full control over how much power your car takes our of the system up to 22kW.

Charging from Renewables

We are very fortunate to have a third of our energy in Stanley from wind. This means that you can be confident that your EV will be making substantial reductions in emissions from the first day you drive it.

We are also working hard to bring more opportunities to charge using renewable energy from enhancing the offerings in Stanley, to installing renewable charging in some of the more remote locations.
